PRISMATIC FLAME
Safety
We work directly with the Milwaukee government and fire department to develop safety standards for the troupe. Every year we review and update the material.
We use the NFPA 160 guidelines for an “Open Flame Effect before and Audience” and the NAFAA Fire Performance guidelines as the base for our protocols.
We also have a strong team of Safety Technicians whose sole purpose is to ensure we follow the best practices during our performance.
Here’s an introduction to our Safety Technicians. These amazing people also occasionally join us for performances!

Mark - Fire Safety Manager
Fire Safety Manager He has been with Prismatic Flame since its formation over three years ago. His vigilance and commitment to safety ensure that audiences can enjoy our shows at a variety of new and recurring venues while allowing our performers to truly "bring it".
He was inspired to purchase his first fire prop, a contact staff, after the troupe's first PrideFest performance as Prismatic Flame following an particularly inspiring and spellbinding tribute piece. Since then, he has been training with fire nunchaku and the fire spear, a novel prop he helped design. He aspires to apply his experiences in martial arts and education in human movement sciences and engineering to expand the troupe's repertoire, such as the inclusion of LED props, luminescent costuming, and stage effects. Perhaps someday he'll audition to join the performance cast, but until then he's pleased to help bring Prismatic Flame to a wider audience.
